The story of the Eagle

I have been asked by several people about the image of the eagle on the back of our coach. There is a long history behind that eagle. During my first job as an engineer I came across a poster that has hung in my office, in one form or another, for almost 50 years. And it says a lot about my personality.

The poster contained an eagle and a mouse. Three-quarters of the poster was the eagle, wings spread, talons exposed, coming in for the kill. At the bottom was a little mouse, with one hand in the air gesturing with his middle finger. The caption said it all .... "One final act of defiance!" There is something about that image that strikes me.

And that brings us to the eagle on our coach. I asked a well respected local sign company to design some graphics so that we could personalize our coach. I gave them a copy of the poster and talked about my thoughts, but gave them the freedom to be creative. The result was spectacular. It clearly expresses our pride of country, respect for the sacrifices that were made in its honor and has my eagle. While the mouse is gone, it had to happen sooner or later. :-) Thank you to Chris Bagley at Sebago Signworks for a job well done.
